"I really appreciate this honor. Buvana truly cared about the work she did, but more importantly, the people she worked with. She was the most genuinely kind person I have known and her enthusiasm for life was contagious. Her plate was always overflowing with work, but she never hesitated to make time to simply ask “how are you doing”, and she sincerely wanted to know. I know I have said this before, but I really miss our early morning conversations where she would insist I stop yelling at my kids to be quiet because she loved hearing the toddler chaos unfolding all around me. It almost seemed like she intentionally timed her calls to coincide with the kids reaching peak fight mode."

"It’s a privilege being mentioned in the same sentence as Buvana much less receiving an award in her honor. When Brian Caufield called Monday morning, I assumed something somewhere was on fire (first thing Monday calls are rarely good news), but no, it was in fact great news and a wonderful way to start the week!"

"Buvana, as was her style, made this easy for me. My only real requirement was choosing something Buvana would support and my wish list item was something in Colorado. Knowing that Buvana supported animal shelters, I’m going with the Colorado Co Existence Fund through the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center." -Michael Schultz
